Getting to Bourton-on-the-Water
Travelling by Car & Public Transport
Bourton-on-the-Water is located relatively central to the UK and is therefor easily accessible from most regions. There are plenty of places to park in the village, although on bank holidays these spots do fill very quickly (please note that there are no 'Left Luggage' facilities in Bourton-on-the-Water). Be thoughtful to residents (and avoid parking fines) by using the paid parking areas.
Directions to Bourton-on-the-Water by Car
From Stow-on-the-Wold head South on the A429 signposted Cirencester after 4 miles turn left at the traffic lights into Station Road and follow the signs to the car parks. From the South where the Cirencester A429 & Cheltenham A436 join, (ignore Satnav) and travel North up the hill on the A429 to the traffic lights and turn right into Station Road, use Google to get directions.
Parking in Bourton-on-the-Water
We have two large pay and display car parks which are open all year round, one located in Station Road (GL54 2EN) and the other Rissington Road (GL54 2BN). Both are just a few minutes’ walk from the centre of the village.
Station Road car park accepts cash (coins only) or payment by card or app. www.paybyphone.co.uk Car park ID 806323. Please note there are no concessions for Blue Badge holders.
The Rissington Road car park operated by Cotswold District Council will accept payments using the PayByPhone parking app or by card. It is advised to download the app prior to your arrival. You can download the app for your device here: Apple devices | Android Devices. The car park ID: 804760. There are concessions for Blue Badge holders, a cycle rack and 14 Electric Vehicle bays. No charge for motorbikes. Height restrictions apply.
Motorcycle Parking
Motorcycles can park free of charge in the Rissington Road Car Park in any bay except those designated for Blue Badge Holders.
Disabled Parking
Disabled parking in the Village Centre is very limited, however there are additional disabled parking spaces at the Rissington Road Car Park. If the dedicated Blue Badge spaces are full, customers can park for free within any space. The time clock and badge must be displayed.
Small Coaches & Motorhomes
19 seater or less buses and motorhomes are able to park in Station Road Car Park.
There are no booking options and parking is on a first come first served basis. Payment should be made at one of the machines on site.

To Bourton-on-the-Water from London
Train from Paddington Station to Kingham - Journey time is approximately 1½ - 2 hours. From Kingham a pre-ordered taxi will be required to get you to Bourton-on-the-Water, the journey time is approximately 20 minutes.
Train from Paddington Station to Moreton-in-Marsh - Journey time is approximately 1½ - 2 hours. From Moreton-in-Marsh you can take Pulham’s Coaches 801 bus service to Bourton-on-the-Water, the journey time is approximately 20 minutes.
Train from Paddington Station to Cheltenham Spa - Journey time is approximately 2½ hours. From Cheltenham you can take the 801 bus service to Bourton-on-the-Water. Note: The train station in Cheltenham is approximately 20 minutes walk from the bus station. You can take the ‘D’ bus from the railway station to Royal Well Road which is a very short distance from Royal Well bus station where the 801 bus departs. Alternatively, you can take a taxi which takes between 10-15 minutes.
National Express Coach from London Victoria to Royal Well in Cheltenham - Journey time approximately 2 - 2½ hours. From Cheltenham take Pulham’s Coaches 801 bus service from Royal Well to Bourton-on-the-Water - Journey time is approximately 50 minutes.
National Express Coach from London Victoria to Beeches Road in Cirencester - Journey time approximately 2 - 2½ hours. From Cirencester you can take the 855 bus service from Beeches Road to Northleach and then change onto the 801 bus to Bourton-on-the-Water.
To Bourton-on-the-Water from Heathrow Airport
National Express Coach to either Beeches Road in Cirencester or, Royal Well in Cheltenham. The journey time is approx 2 - 2½ hours. From Cheltenham you can take the 801 bus service from Royal Well to Bourton-on-the-Water. Approximate journey time is 30 minutes. From Cirencester you can take the 855 bus service from Beeches Road to Northleach and then change onto the 801 bus to Bourton-on-the-Water.
The Airline coach runs approximately every 30 minutes to Oxford. From Oxford you can then take the train to Kingham or Moreton-in-Marsh. From Kingham a pre-ordered taxi will be required to get to Bourton-on-the-Water. From Moreton-in-Marsh you can take the 801 bus service to Bourton-on-the-Water. The journey time is approximately 20 minutes.
Heathrow Express train to London Paddington. Trains run every 15 minutes and journey time is approximately 15 minutes. From London Paddington: as above.
