A Good Place To Visit
Bourton-on-the-Water is generally regarded as a good place to visit for those with mobility issues. The centre of the village is flat and there is reasonable access to many of the shops and cafes.
Around The Village
There are six disabled parking spaces on the High Street and two designated spaces in the Rissington Road car park. Blue Badge holders can also park for free in standard bays in this car park - GL54 2BN.
Disabled toilet facilities can be found in the High Street and Rissington Road car park. A RADAR key may be required.
Of the attractions, Birdland has good accessibility and wheelchairs can be hired in advance free of charge. The Cotswold Motoring Museum also has access throughout the museum.
Unfortunately, The Model Village has paths that are too narrow for wheelchairs, but there is a viewing platform that can be accessed on request. The Dragonfly Maze is also not accessible due to narrow paths.
The Hearing & Mobility Store in Bourton hire out aids such as wheelchairs and scooters on a daily/weekly basis.
Please note that while all the businesses aim to be as inclusive as possible, some of the older buildings may not be fully accessible. Please contact individual establishments for specific information.
